We have been walking around and going to different attractions here in Marathon! The turtle hospital is one and they take care of all the turtles that are hurt here in the Keys. It was an once a motel and they converted it to a hospital and the pool is a salt water pond for the turtles that can never be released! They also have two ambulances that go up and down the Keys picking up hurt turtles!
We walked to the Crane Point Wildlife Preserve today and that is awesome! The Crane Family bought the point in 1950 and built a house and lived out their lives there, it was bought by Marathon in 1992 and turned into a museum and wildlife center where they take care of injured and hurt birds! The walk is about 1 mile and you get see the point and the house. Also there is one of the oldest houses on the Keys! Some of the biggest iguanas I have ever seen, not worried about people. They even know how to cross the roads without getting run over by cars!
