Bye Bye Nassau

Well, we got ready to leave Nassau, but before we left Pierre wanted to change the oil in the generator and the main engine. Ok..no worries, changed the oil in the generator and when he started the engine to get the oil hot and flowing, heard a noise...not good...we have a crack in our heat exchanger! After three days to get it out, get out the welder, weld it and get it back in...we breathed a sigh of relief! Too soon..getting ready to leave this weekend we found a problem with the generator, the exhaust manifold on the heat exchanger has rusted thru...so the hunt is on for a new one! Either that or we are going to have to ethic engineer the old one. Hope to not have to do that..we rely on the genset a lot! So needless to say we are still here in Nassau! I am going to hold off on my provisions till we are sure things are working good!
The boat next to us has the two little girls that were in my last blog, and Carly's mum has come in from Australia to take care of them while the new baby is in the hospital.  She is a hair dresser so she cut my hair for me..I love it...so nice to have it short again, it was getting quite shaggy!
Not to good of a picture, but you get the idea!

Not too short?

Hopefully we can get outta here next week...weather and boat permitting!
Update:
surprise....we found a Phazor dealer here not to far away. We walked to the local marine store and they told us how to get to Alberts Shop! When we got there we went in and lo and behold it was like walking into Pierre's machine shop at home, I turned to him and said..welcome home..we both laughed, if anyone has been to Pierre's shop they can understand this!
The price for a new one...you ask?  $1400.00..ouch.
But the good news is Albert said he can weld and machine the old one. ( I know Pierre was itching to do it himself!).
After the weather last night and this morning, I, for one, am glad we are still at dock, it is blowing a small gale here!
And yes.. being stuck in Paradise?...what can I say?
Another church!
