After sailing for a week we are back in Panama City, Florida to haul the boat and do some much needed work. It was a huge struggle to come all the way back here, but we could not find a place to haul this beast of a boat, she draws so much water that we were turned down at every boatyard I could find that we qualified for, in the Bahamas and in south Florida.
She does need some engine work, bad, and our genset has some issues too. Pierre has his shop here and he can do all the machining and work she needs for a lot less, so here we are. It will be good to see and spend time with our family and friends!
I found a slip at the city marina so we will be staying there while we wait for a haul out and we can can do some inside work! On the way here the genoa ripped out in a storm, so we will have to replace that!
I have put the boat up for sale and I know that we're in for some major decisions in our lives right now, and I know that our future is kinda up in the air and believe me, I know that this next chapter in our lives will be a challenge and that might require some change on our part, but I am not disillusioned and we are up for the challenges ahead. We have goals, we have plans and we are making choices to see those plans take the shape we want them too!
We're not sure what the future holds, but we're going to steer this ship as best we can and change tacks if and when necessary. We've got our work cut out for us and it's going to be hard work, but it is worth doing and right now at this junction in our lives we are nothing if not determined to see this through to the end!
