Famous for its golden sand beaches, Cable Beach is known as the hotel district of Nassau, because there are five massive hotels and some huge ones are under construction. You can also stroll up to one of the area's public beaches and swim in the warm, shimmering Bahamian waters. We took the bus there and walked up and down the sidewalks and looked at the sights. On the way back to downtown the bus we were on tires went flat and we had to get off and walk...what fun!

With so many stretches of beautiful beaches—and miles upon miles of powdery white sands as soft as fine sugar, it's always a perfect day to lie back, relax and enjoy The Bahamas, with sunshine 300 days a year and water temperatures averaging 80 degrees, what is there not to love!
Nassau's long stretches of sugar-fine white sand and warm azure waters have appeared as the gorgeous backdrop to some of the most iconic films in the world, Pirates of The Caribbean, James Bond’s Casino Royale and Thunderball, in fact, the beaches and waters here are truly out of this world! Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, when asked about his “spaceship’s-eye” views from the International Space Station, said, “The most beautiful to me are The Bahamas, the vast glowing reefs of every shade of blue that exists.”
We took a day bus tour with Patrick, the night guard, he went with us and showed us some more interesting sight of Nassau. He has lived here most of his life, his grandmother was from The Berrys!

This marina is a new marina here in Nassau, but it is one of the best. It is centrally located and the people that run it are very nice. Jackie, who runs the office is super nice and Kim also. The guys Demetri and John, who help out on the docks, and do all sorts of other stuff, will help you with anything you need! If you are cruising to Nassau, I would recommend this marina as a place to stay!
We have been all over this Island and I have only good things to say about the Bahamian people, they are not only lovely people, their personalities are one of friendliness and happiness!
We are getting ready to head for the Eleuthera's as soon as the weather settles down! Just need to stock up on some supplies and then we are off to continue this adventure!
